Áine Gordon’s debut EP, The Stray, was released in May 2025. A collection of four tracks, the EP blends haunting folk influences with layered instrumentation, drawing listeners into Gordon’s world of storytelling.
Produced and mixed by acclaimed artist Joshua Burnside, who also contributes vocals and a variety of instruments across the EP, The Stray merges Gordon’s introspective songwriting with Burnside’s warm, textured production. The EP has already garnered attention for its raw sound. Gordon’s work resonates through its balance of personal detail and emotion, marking her emergence as a thoughtful voice in contemporary folk.
Since the release of The Stray, Gordon has continued to develop her live profile, supporting Joshua Burnside at the Ulster Hall and performing at festivals and showcase events including Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Sound of Belfast, and Chordblossom’s GIFTED series at The Empire Music Hall.

Belfast-based singer-songwriter Áine Gordon is set to release her debut EP The Stray on May 16th, 2025. A collection of four evocative tracks, the EP weaves haunting folk influences with layered instrumentation, drawing listeners into Gordon's world of rich storytelling.
The EP features contributions from acclaimed artist Joshua Burnside, who produced and mixed the record while also lending his voice and plays various instruments on each of the tracks. Burnside’s signature warm and organic production style brings a richness to the EP, creating a sound that feels both raw and immersive, blending her own introspective song writing with his textured arrangements. The project is further enriched by the talents of Paddy McKeown on viola and Ben Flavelle-Cobain on double bass, adding depth and warmth to When You Like and Glide. It was mastered by Joel Harkin in Aye Sound Mastering in Belfast.

The Stray - The Stray has a raw, intimate feel. Rooted in the story of a Stray Sod, it’s a slow-building, atmospheric song with organ drone and Burnside's subtle fiddle and backing vocals
When You Like - The first single, released on March 28th, intertwines wistful melodies with acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, evoking themes of nostalgia and fleeting moments.
Glide - Glide is a sweeping, ballad carried by Áine Gordon's vocals and lush string arrangements. With Paddy McKeown on viola and Ben Flavelle-Cobain on Double Bass.
Chauffeur - The second single, released on April 24th, explores transient connections and shifting landscapes with poetic lyricism and dynamic instrumentation.
